Clean the filter with a strong jet of water 2 to 3 times a week: attach a nozzle to the garden hose to obtain a sufficiently powerful jet.

Use one filter at a time; do not brush it!

Occasionally, soak the filter in a solution of FILTERCLEANER or DECALCIT FILTER. Rinse thoroughly.

Never use flocculant (flocculant is present in "all-in-one" products for sand filters)! When you notice that the water is no longer being drawn in properly, or worse, that the suction hose tends to get pinched even though you've regularly cleaned the filter, it's time to throw it away.

Signs:

  • The cartridge is heavy.
  • When you submerge the cleaned filter bag and lift it out of the water, it doesn't empty instantly.
  • The skimmer's floating head no longer "jumps" when the pump is running, and the water seems to stagnate in the skimmer.
  • A filter should be changed approximately every 6 weeks. (The used filter should be thrown away. Use one filter at a time.)

The frequency depends on the length of the season, the pool's usage, the water temperature, and also the care taken with water treatment and filter cleaning, but the more often you want pristine water, the more frequently you should change the filter. Start each season with a new filter. You'll realize the problem, because a clogged filter stops the water from passing through, and ultimately, it's the pump that suffers.

Notes:

  • Pollen clogs a filter in no time, and so do dust and limescale!
  • Hard water? Use a water hardness stabilizer (Calcinex Pool).

Benefits:

  • Prevents limescale deposits on pool walls and accessories
  • prevents potential limescale precipitation.
  • Helps stabilize the pH level.
  • Effective and inexpensive.
