When and why clean a cartridge filter?

Like any type of pool filter, the cartridge filter gets clogged as it filters and collects the dirt contained in the pool water. The more it gets clogged, the less effective the filtration. During the operating period, this type of filter requires 1 to 3 weekly washes depending on the use and exposure of the pool.

When you notice that the water is no longer being sucked up correctly (the water seems to stagnate on the skimmer) or, worse, that the suction hose tends to pinch even though you have regularly cleaned the filter, it is time to throw it away.

Hard water? It is essential to use a water hardness stabilizer: Calcinex Pool.

Cleaning with a water jet removes the largest waste (organic waste, hair).

To remove scale, iron and other mineral deposits from the filter, it is advisable to soak the cartridge in a solution of "Filtercleaner" or "Decalcit Filter". Leave to soak for at least 1 hour.

Always rinse the cartridge with a water jet before putting it back in the skimmer.
